OUR SHELTER

MISSION & VISION.

The Mission of the Montgomery County SPCA is to provide protection, care and shelter to homeless, abused and neglected animals and to promote public awareness about spaying and neutering, as well as proper pet care.

​

Our Vision is to create a better tomorrow for all companion animals. We strive to provide readily-available education, affordable spay/neuter programs, state-of-the-art shelter care, and comprehensive adoption programs. You can become part of this vision by donating to our Capital Campaign.

JOB OPPORTUNITIES.

ANIMAL CARETAKER TECHNICIAN

 

Animal Caretaker Technician position is currently available.  It is part-time and includes weekends and holidays.  The position is guaranteed a minimum of two days a week and can be at times as much as 5 days a week.  

 

It is a rewarding job that involves caring for, feeding, handling, transporting and medicating cats and dogs.  Daily cleaning of dog kennels, cat cages and the shelter.  Daily duties also include washing dishes and laundry.  

 

Requirements:

  • Experience in handling both cats and dogs of all sizes.  

  • A valid and clear driver’s license.  

  • Customer service relations experience is necessary.

Job applications are available at the MCSPCA animal shelter located at 1232 St Hwy 5S in Amsterdam.  They can be picked up Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 4pm.  Please ask for Ashley.  

 

Interviews will be conducted.  Applicants will be contacted for the date of their interview.

The Montgomery County SPCA has gift certificates available for the following:

  • PAL (Prevent Another Litter)

  • Spay/neuter program

  • Micro-chipping

  • Nail clipping

  • Adoption fees.

Gift certificates make a wonderful gift and can be purchased at the shelter and at MCSPCA events.

GIFT CERTIFICATE

PET CARE SERVICES AT THE SHELTER.

The MCSPCA offers low-cost care services for your pet.

​

During our regular hours, you may bring in your pet for these services:

 

Nail Clipping:

  • Cats $10

  • Dogs $15

*During regular hours, no appointment needed.

​

Microchipping: 

  • $25 each cat or dog. 

*Please call 842-8050 for an appointment.
